Which dumbbells does this calculator work with?

It is built for the Eisenlink adjustable square dumbbell (the A030) — a 4 kg screw-cap handle loaded with cast-iron plates — which is also sold under the Zipro brand. It applies to any adjustable dumbbell that uses a 4 kg handle, 1 kg lock screws, and 1 kg and 2 kg plates.

Why does the calculator always add 6 kg?

A loaded dumbbell is a 4 kg handle plus two 1 kg lock screws that hold the plates on — 6 kg fixed before any plates. The only exception is the bare 4 kg handle with no plates, which needs no screws.

What is the maximum weight per dumbbell?

36 kg per dumbbell. With two dumbbells the maximum total is 72 kg, split evenly.

Why are some weights not achievable?

After the fixed 6 kg, the remaining weight must be an even number of kilograms so it can be split identically across both sides. Odd remainders can't be balanced with the available plates, so the tool suggests the nearest valid weights above and below instead.
